At IACLD CPE ANCO, communication between you, your teacher and the Academic Director is quick and effective. The school management is constantly kept informed by the teachers about student progress so we know when the right time is to move you up to the next level. We will, of course, communicate with you regularly regarding your own wishes and take them into account.
How quickly your Russian improves depends on a lot of things: length of stay, motivation, how hard you work, your aptitude etc. Every student is different and for this reason, the programs are provided for any level of the Russian language proficiency (even if you do not speak Russian at all).
All students, whether long or short stay, are assessed in class in many ways, through homework, ongoing checks of language studied and so on. We also have a Friday Review which is an informal check of your progress over the week and which will be directly relevant to the work you have covered. It may be an oral or written review, or a review of vocabulary and grammar points.
An important aspect of measuring your progress is self-assessment. It is vital that you can assess your own progress and learn good ways of working independently which will help you to continue learning Russian effectively when your course has finished. For this reason, self-assessment is always discussed at your tutorial.
